The Biodesign Institute is providing summer laboratory internships for 10 qualified high school students in Arizona. Students will be paid monetary stipends at the completion of the program to provide compensation for time, travel and expenses.
This internship provides a unique opportunity for students to work closely with researchers in a world-class research facility, gaining hands-on experience with actual, current research projects.
The program is commuter-based, not residential (no housing is available). Students must commit to a minimum 90 volunteer hours spread fairly evenly over the 6-week period plus a full day of final project presentations. Every student will participate in a minimum of 90 volunteer hours in the Institute. Volunteer hours must be completed Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 7 through July 19, 2010.
